Out
Tonight I walked a co-worker down to the bus stop at Barrington & Sackville. She was too afraid to walk down Barrington "this late" by herself. She was so thankful. It was so nothing. I was smiling to myself when I thought of all the times I have walked that stretch of road alone so late it's early... the uniqueness of perspective always amazes me.
There were throngs of people out tonight. It's warm, it's summer, it's jazz festival. The city is alive. It was fab. People were crammed onto apartment patios, folks were hangin' tough at Niche, there was music all around. Loves it. Made me want to dress up and get out there. On the walk back to my place, I high fived three old friends. I wanted to turn around and go with them - coming home seemed like such a lame ass thing to do. But I did it anyway, have to work in the morning.
I'm moving again. Can't stand the damp dark dank basement any longer. Found a small, overpriced, perfectly located, second floor bachelor around the corner, and am going to sign the lease tomorrow. The clawfoot tub and freaking awesome kitchen won me over. I'll need new furniture, how exciting.
I think my new frugal & responsible lifestyle may afford me a few summer nights on the town. I was way too aware of my ASS uniform and flat boring shoes on the walk down the street tonight.
